Try These Recipe Favorites for National Dog Biscuit Day!

January is coming to an end, which means it’s already almost February, the month of Valentine’s Day, Black History Month, and one of our favorites around Ta Ib… NATIONAL DOG BISCUIT DAY!!

Coming up on February 23, National Dog Biscuit Day is the perfect day to let your fluffy four-legged friend enjoy a couple of extra snacks and what better way to celebrate than by making your own healthy treats at home?!

Not only is making treats at home easier on your wallet, butthey’re also much healthier and easier to customize for your pup’s needs!

Here are 3 of our favorite healthy, vegan, easy-to-make, all-natural dog treats from around the web!

#1 – 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats (from floraandvino.com)

Ingredients:- 1 large super ripe banana- ½ cup Natural peanut butter (no added oils, sugars, preservatives, or flavoring, please!)- 1 ½ cups Gluten-free old-fashioned rolled oats (or you can sub this for oat flour)

Instructions:- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper- Blitz the old-fashioned rolled oats in a blender until you have a fine flour, or, alternatively, use oat flour instead. Set aside- In a large mixing bowl, smash the peanut butter and ripe banana. Add the oat flour and smash with a fork until the dough is thick and well combined. If it’s crumbly, add 2-4 Tablespoons more peanut butter and recombine. You want the dough to be firm, sticky, and pliable.- Roll dough into a thin slab, about ~1/4 inch thick, and cut into shapes with a cookie cutter. Alternatively, you can roll them into ~1 Tablespoon balls and flatten with your hands for a simple circular cookie.- Bake for ~15 minutes until lightly brown underneath. Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before sampling or sharing with your pup!
